When the Deep Down and Dirty single came out a coupla months back, there was a certain amount of excitement around these parts. Afterall, these guys produced one of the first dance albums that people now in their early twenties ever listened to. Stereo MCs were big news in our Secondary School back in 1991!
Since then though, the album has bombed (already in the bargain bins at Tower Records) and questions have to be asked about their relevance. So will anyone go to this gig? We think so, because let's face it, even if the new stuff aint much cop, they can still belt out Connected and Step It Up and everyone will go home happy. I Love the 90s and all that.
Rob Birch could do with some new clothes though, and perhaps drop the paranoid dope-smoker posing? Just a thought.
Time to get Deep Down and Dirty, baby.
