Gig of the Week

Live at the Rock 'n' Roll Club, Metro Club
Thu 28th - Sat 30th March, 8pm-11pm

Artrocker presents three nights of full on rock 'n' roll action in the heart of the West End. The gigs are being staged to celebrate the forthcoming compilation album The New Rock 'n' Roll, Vol 2, which features tracks from The Hives and The Hotwires amongst others.

Thursday night is headlined by Finland's The Flaming Sideburns, who apparently taught The Hives everything they know about rock 'n' roll. Well, don't hold that against them, and be sure to check 'em out, along with Divine Brown and Speed Killers. Xfm's John Kennedy said of The Flaming Sideburns, "One of the best live bands I've ever seen".

Friday night's line-up is headed by a hot New York act who have been causing just a bit of a stir, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It's their first UK headline show, so get there early. The D4 support.

Saturday sees the return of strange, wigged-out rockers Ten Benson, plus some "very special guests" yet to be confirmed, but who could indeed be pretty special given the organiser's solid as a rock connections (although Beachbuggy are the hot faves). Ten Benson have new material out soon (One Way Ticket, 22nd April), and they're sure to confuse any (robot) tourists who happen to wander in.

All three nights also feature DJ Irene from Artrocker, and cost £7.30 from Stargreen in advance (damn those booking fees) or £6 on the door if available.
