Looking Forward To

Rock n Roll Club, Metro Bar
Fri 3rd May 2002, 8-11pm

The Metro bar is rapidly rising to prominence as the venue of choice for the hottest new rock & roll acts, with recent gigs from The YeahYeahYeahs, The Datsuns, The Parkinsons, The D4 and many more.

And now, 3 more great bands line up to take to the stage at this slightly small but more-or-less perfectly formed venue. First on are the hot London rockers The Hotwires, who look good and sound even better, mixing as they do dirty garage blues and punk-rock nihilism with a healthy dose of modern soul swagger. Their debut EP The Red Glare of Rockets is in the shops now.

Second on the bill are Dalston's finest, The Beatings, and what a fucking fantastic name for a band that is (surely some 60s freakbeat act thought of it first though?) Er, that's all we know about them. Headlining are The Mooney Suzuki, not such a great name, but hell, they're from New York so they must be good.

The night is another Artrocker presentation, so expect only the very best in new rock 'n' roll.
