Fischerspooner,
The Bridge,
London Bridge
Thu
30th & Fri 31st May 2002,
8pm-late
The
waiting is almost over.
It's
about 9 months now since the #1 album by Fischerspooner first appeared
in London record shops, and ever since then the buzz surrounding Casey
Spooner and Warren Fischer has grown. So much so that Ministry of Sound
recently signed them up for a seven figure sum, and the re-released album
is now being reviewed by everyone from The Mirror to The Guardian
(not all positive, incidentally).
Their
"performance art" live show has also been the subject of much speculation
ever since photos and reviews of their US shows started appearing in music
and style mags. In an email to WeAreLondon,
Casey promised these London shows would be "pretty special", with
all manner of pyrotechnics and costume changes likely.
As
a result of the hype, the first date on the Thu sold out instantly. You
may have more luck getting a ticket for the Fri night show, which runs
to 2am. DJ Hell will get the crowd warmed up on Thursday, Erol
Trash on Friday.
As
for the venue, we've never been there, but by the sounds of it, it's another
"under the arches" club at London Bridge.
