Moldy
Peaches, ULU
Thu
20th June 2002, 7.30pm
After
almost a year away, The Moldy Peaches return to London for a live appearance.
If you've never seen them before, you're in for a treat, as their shows
are a mixture of the funny, the surreal, and the downright rockin.
Appearances
in bunny suits are commonplace too, and lyrics about Thundercats often
mingle with lyrics about penises. The way it should be, basically.
Newish
single County Fair is bound to be given a live outing, as well
as new material (hopefully) and perhaps some of Adam Green's solo work.
A
lot has happened on the live scene since The Moldy Peaches last played
here, with The Strokes and White Stripes going on to big things and a
slew of new bands laying claim to the next big thing title.
You
get the feeling that Adam and Kimya aren't really interested in any of
that, which takes some of the pressure of expectation off their shoulders,
and ours. They might not impress you in the way so many bands try to,
but they wont care, and maybe that's more important.
Support
on the night comes from singer-songwriter David Kitt plus Joie/Dead
Blonde Girlfriend. Tickets are available at all the usual outlets
and cost £8.50adv + b/fee.
